Guide Net
Guide Net
This one is NEW for 2024 and was designed for the serious angler in mind where larger fish are the target but mobility matters.
Alaskan fly-out guides love this model as it combines the functional attributes necessary with the classic beauty of a handmade wooden net and scaled in size to transport and carry easily.
Designed around the 19” x 14” net bag the handle is shortened to 18”, a size that provides necessary reach and leverage while still fitting in a net holster on the fishing pack. The net bag is extremely fish friendly being made of a rubberized mesh that minimizes mucus loss and fin abrasion.
I field tested this design on American Creek in Katmai National Park in 2023 on a five-day float trip. I used this design daily to land rainbow trout up to 29”.
This is the go-to for guides fishing Moraine Creek, Brooks River, Kvichak and the Wood Tikchiks in Bristol Bay and many other Western rivers and lakes with larger fish. We have used it on many Steelhead waters of the Pacific Northwest with success.
You will find this net to be just what you want when you are casting to larger fish but have to be mobile. I like to carry mine behind my back in an integrated net holster.
When ordering you have the option to add attractive wooden benchmarks in the handle to confirm the size of fish up to 30”! (Add $20.00)
The Montana Net Co. Standard Guide Net is Cherry Handle with Peruvian Walnut Accent, and Ash with Peruvian Walnut Accent net hoop, with an Obsidian Net Bag.
